  Mother's Day We celebrate mother's day every year in the month of may. We do this kind of occasion to praise all of the mothers out there for their braveness and for having an unending love for their children.  We celebrate mother's day to express our love towards them and to honor their contributions. We acknowledge their efforts and sacrifices for us.  A mother's love is unconditional and as a child, we must also make an effort to show them how we truly love them not just on mother's day but it should be everyday. 

  Viva Vigan Festival The Viva Vigan Festival of Arts is celebrated during the first week of the month of May. It was started in 1993 by the Save Vigan Ancestral Homes Association, Inc. (SVAHAI) to promote awareness of the value of the historic town, which was hoped to strengthen resolve to preserve and protect this heritage site. For the past sixteen years, the festival of arts has been successful in drumming up attention for Vigan’s ancestral houses. With the help of national and local agencies, as well as media, arts and non-governmental supporters, the festival has also succeeded in promoting other aspects of Vigan. Its popularity has even benefited the whole tourism industry of the northern region, bringing in tens of thousands of local and foreign tourists curious to explore and have a “northern experience.” Viva Vigan’s week-long festivities have both religious and secular importance.   Women Empowerment Women fight to have the empowerment and equality that they wanted to have. Women wants to show that they are equal to men and that they can do what they can. Empowerment aims to promote women's self-worth and their ability and rights to influence social change not just for themselves but also for everyone in this world. Women can also lead us into a better world to live and that reason is enough for us to treat them they way they deserve to be treated.  In this situation, women had more  empowered, they became a front liner and they had served lots of people who needs help. This act became an inspiration to the  young girls who wants to serve in the future. This inspired them to strengthen the empowerment of women. We should also support women and make them feel worthy for who they are.  Equality is the best gift that women can receive. Araw ng Kagitingan   The Day of Valor, officially known as Araw ng Kagitingan, is a national observance in the Philippines which commemorates the fall of Bataan to Japanese troops during World War II. It falls every April 9, although in 2009, its celebration was moved to April 6 to avoid it from coinciding with Maundy Thursday . It's the day where we celebrate the bravery of our heroes to protect our country from the opponent country's. Because of them, we are now living a normal life and even has our own freedom in our hands. So we must not all forget our heroes who saved us and protected us.

  Lenten Season                                     This is the season wherein Filipino people recall Christ's passion, his suffering, death and resurrection. It is the time for us to remember him and worship him. It is a time we set aside each year to remember the love of God that is poured out through Christ Jesus on the cross in His death; and His defeat of death, sin and Satan in Christ's death and resurrection that brings Eternal Life to you.

  This is a very happy event for the Ilocanos specially to the Bigueños. In this event, different activities will be held that aime to celebrate life and spreading joy.
